Timeline

2001

Corrin Harper, MBA, and Larry Goodfellow, MBA, founded Insightrix Research Inc. As entrepreneurs, Corrin and Larry saw a growing need for market research services, particularly those offered via the internet.

2002

Insightrix Research began multi-mode data collection in 2002 (telephone and online surveying) and was one of the first organizations in Western Canada.

2007

We became a registered supplier with Alberta Advanced Education, enabling our organization to offer its services in a new market.

2008

After years of fruitlessly searching for a superior quality online sample of Saskatchewan residents, we built the first-ever, Saskatchewan-based online research panel. Wholly owned by Insightrix, SaskWatch Research® is the most extensive online panel of Saskatchewan residents.

2008

We obtained the Gold Seal from the Market Research Intelligence Association (MRIA), the Canadian association representing the market intelligence and survey research industry. Gold Seal Certification assures clients that our organization collects quality data for all projects and follows standard industry research processes.

2008  

Corrin found Presley wandering along the highway, and after no owners came forward, we adopted him. He is now responsible for Morale and Security at Insightrix, a position he takes very seriously – when he is not napping under Corrin’s desk.

2009

In 2009, Public Works and Government Services Canada awarded Insightrix a Standing Offer for the provision of public opinion research. This designation means we can provide public opinion research projects for the federal government in both the telephone and online streams.

2010

Our organization steadily grew in 2010 – we managed to increase our staff by 40%. Soon after, we moved to our large, open-office environment and constructed a 14-seat focus group facility.

2012

Our new location and capabilities allowed us to expand our service offerings, and in 2012, we set up a Creative Services department. Creative Services is dedicated to presenting research findings innovatively, including infographics, videos and microsites.

2013

Insightrix develops marketing and market research software, offering creative IT solutions tailored to the specifications of individual businesses. Insightrix starts working with clients on emerging software platforms like online community panels, online voting, SMS marketing and SMS alerts software.

2014

We were the proud host of the national MRIA conference, held for the first time in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The annual three-day national conference is an opportunity for buyers and suppliers to learn more about up-and-coming market research methodologies and techniques.

2014

Insightrix partners with FocusVision to offer the most advanced mobile survey technology available to its clients and panellists. This technology also further builds on our online dashboard and portal capabilities.

2015

Insightrix offers for sale its online community platform software. This expands our service offerings to include managed online communities and self-serving options. We presently sell this software package on an international basis.

2016

Our organization continues to expand its research and development staff, bringing national and international expertise in branding, advertising and communications and customer experience.

2017

Our research toolbox continues to grow with the addition of neuroscience equipment and new platforms, including text analytics, AI software and usability experience measurement.

2018

Insightrix presents a study paper on a neuroscience research project at the National Marketing Research and Intelligence Association conference. The project is credited with increasing the understanding of ads designed to reduce drinking and driving behaviours. We also launch a new podcast series –  Stories of Market Research – the first in Canada!

2019

Insightrix is ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified. We are proud to have taken this proactive step to ensure that our client’s information remains secure and private.

  2019 also saw Insightrix launch the Insightrix Innovation and Knowledge Centre (IKC). The IKC’s mission is to push the envelope by employing new technologies and implementing innovative methodologies that deliver data storytelling through improved visualization and quicker, more actionable insights. The formation of the IKC underlines our commitment to strengthening existing relationships and building strategic partnerships to help better meet our client’s research needs.

2021

2021 was a big year for Insightrix – not only did we celebrate 20 years in business, but we also moved to a new exciting location designed to embrace a new way of working called “hybrid style.”

  Insightrix worked closely with Metric Design and Business Furnishings to design a space that leverages collaboration in the office. Embracing a world that mixes standard office requirements with a residential flair.

We created a space for staff that is genuinely welcoming, a place we look forward to coming to collaborate and work on our client projects. In addition, Insightrix uses advanced video technology designed to leverage Zoom Room licenses, making connecting with our offsite colleagues as seamless as possible.
