In November, Insightrix and SaskWatch partnered on a campaign for SaskWatch members – giving residents of Saskatchewan the chance to win free groceries up to $1,000 to use at the grocery store of their choice while at the same time having a donation of $1,000 made to their local food bank. Through the month of November, SaskWatch members liked, shared and promoted the campaign and we are happy to announce the winners! Congratulations to Keith, our Grand Prize finalist! The promotion’s lucky winner was chosen on December 1st and Keith B. from Saskatoon won NOT ONLY $1,000 worth of groceries for himself, but also won the chance to donate another $1,000 to his local food bank! On December 8, Insightrix was thrilled to have the opportunity to drop off Keith’s $1,000 donation to the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre.   The Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre Executive Director, Laurie O’Connor, was delighted to receive the donation and made sure to pass on her thanks, not just to Keith, the Grand Prize winner, but to everyone who participated. Give back to charities with SaskWatch points! Even though the Free Groceries promotion has finished, SaskWatch members are still giving back to charities all over Saskatchewan! For every survey completed as a member of the SaskWatch community, members can donate their earnings to the over 75 charities listed on the site. Not only do SaskWatch members donate a sizeable share to these charities, most of those charities were recommended by community members themselves....

Throughout the month of November, Insightrix Research and SaskWatch Research ran a promotion to support and promote SaskWatch® – Saskatchewan’s favourite and largest market research community – as a way, not only to reward our new and existing community members, but as a way to give back to those who need it at a time when they need it most. The promotion saw unprecedented participation, with people from all over Saskatchewan getting in on the action, sharing and liking our posts on Facebook and Instagram, and referring new community members. Now, with the promotion ended… We have a winner!!! The SaskWatch Free Groceries campaign has ended, and the Grand Prize winner has been chosen – Keith B. from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan won $1,000 in groceries AND gets the opportunity to donate another $1,000 to his local food bank. Congratulations Keith!!! Keith chose to make his $1,000 donation to the Saskatoon Food Bank. Thanks to all who entered! None of this would be possible without your SaskWatch membership!   SaskWatch Research and Insightrix Research would like to thank all of the participants in the first ever Free Groceries promotion. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share, like or refer a friend to SaskWatch this month. It’s with support from community members like you that this promotion, and the community itself, are possible. And, of course, thank you for your active membership in Saskatchewan’s favourite and largest market research community! And a big thank you and welcome to all of the new members of the SaskWatch community! Now that you’re a member, stay active, stay connected and have your voice heard on issues that matter to you – a Saskatchewan resident. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to give back! While getting a chance to cover Keith’s groceries over the holiday season makes everyone at Insightrix and SaskWatch happy, we are extra happy to have the opportunity to give back to the Saskatchewan community through promotions like these. Over the years, SaskWatch has formed relationships with 75 charities in Saskatchewan, and regularly encourages its community members to donate their survey earnings to charities here in the province. Both SaskWatch and Insightrix look forward to having a chance to run promotions and contests similar to the Free Groceries promotion in the future, not just to reward our valued SaskWatch members, but as a part of the social responsibility we feel as being firms who are proud to be a part of the Saskatchewan community. It’s not too late to join up! While the SaskWatch Free Groceries promotion may have ended, if you’re not already a member, it is not too late to head over to saskwatch.ca and register as a new community member. As a SaskWatch community member, you can make yourself heard about matters of public policy and business while making your opinion count. Qual Day in Canada Early attempts at online and technology driven qualitative research have been successful, but the tipping point seems to be occurring more recently. Driving this evolution are numerous factors such as high speed internet connectivity, video streaming, mobile devices, facial recognition and eye tracking technology along with apps and cameras. In addition, millennial preferences and participant comfort with sharing media and ideas are pushing a rapid expansion in this area of research. These new methods are taking hold and expanding the opportunities to engage in qualitative research.     Eye tracking, EEG, and Emotions Measurement Live Presentation by: Lang McGilp Research Director, Insightrix Research While there are many tools available to utilize in your qualitative research projects, the aim is to always investigate phenomena that can be difficult to measure, providing a deeper understanding to people's emotions, attitudes and behaviours. This presentation will talk about the merits of using new emerging technologies and where traditional research can still shine. For those on site, we will show new methods that measure your brain activity (don't be scared!), track your eye movement, and read your facial expressions. To all my friends, HAPPY NATIONAL PUPPY DAY!!!!!!! Like all of my other puppy associates, I am absolutely (but patiently) waiting on spring to SPRUNG! Why are we STILL getting all this snow? This white stuff is NOT FUN to trot around in, I mean, it feels like it NEVER leaves. What happened to the warm wind and the prairie sunshine? Where are all the good smells at? Wait… Wait.. sorry. Off track. I asked one of my besties at Insightrix to help me write up a big ole puppy thank you to the Insightrix team for another amazing year. My days are filled with faces happy to see me (oh, and only me). My favourite activities these days are bringing my latest toy to my favourite employees, I know who eats cheese strings every morning, and I get SUPER excited when Ros, my office manager, orders pizza. I still don’t like the smell of that pizza guy though….. I shake him down every time he comes. *grrr..* BUT…… Being an office pup is a HIGH honour, and I hope more of my fellow furry friends get the same opportunity I do. Being at the office, I can tell how many people light up when they see me. It’s a big responsibility, but I am happy to be the Chief Morale Officer. I believe I am very lucky to jump in the car with Corrin every morning and head to my favourite place in the world, surrounded by people who love me. How lucky it is to be me, Presley! Happy National Puppy Day! Signing off, ...

While creativity and ingenuity is extremely integrated into the culture at Insightrix, and something we continually strive for, we never dreamed that our fun, little video would turn out as successful as it did. Special thanks to Huw, Dylan, and Douglas Evans of Eye Catcher Video for producing a fun and quirky video that inspired nationwide discussions regarding the slang and uniqueness of Saskatchewan. If you still haven’t seen SaskatcheWHAT?! Watch it here!...

“I love it when a plan comes together.” This oft quoted line made popular from the 80s television series, The A-Team, mirrors my thoughts exactly regarding Insightrix’s What’s New in Advertising Research Luncheon. When we first started developing the idea of having a luncheon to educate people in new methods of advertising research, it began with a question, “How do we get people to come?” It isn’t uncommon to plan a great and informative event and have little-to-no people actually show up! We certainly didn’t want to happen to our event, so we knew we had to work hard! Once the content of the presentation was finalized we made an attractive event poster to draw people in. We knew that with our speakers’ combined knowledge and experience it wouldn’t be an issue to get people to come if the invitation was presented properly. Once it was created and emailed out to our contact list, we hit the phones. In less than a week we had over 50 people RSVP, which exceeded our goal. From my perspective, it was exciting to actually witness the presentation. I enjoyed the summary of the new and innovative methods of advertising research, and how they differed. Lang and Majid are experts in their industry, but they also have a knack for explaining complex methods in a way that is easy for anybody to understand. As a whole, the luncheon was enlightening and a great overall experience. Aside from the educational presentation, it was great to reconnect with some familiar faces in the crowd and make new acquaintances — the delicious pizza didn’t hurt either! Insightrix wants to thank everyone who took the time out of their day to join us in learning about the newest trends in advertising research. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed having you!   ...
